Hi, I'm Fran, a Nottinghamshire based equine, pet and wildlife portrait artist. I specialise in realistic yet characterful coloured pencil portraits, as well offering illustrations and a mural painting service. Dive into My Portfolio
Each year, my work grows and evolves into something bigger, more interesting, and better. As an artist, there is no greater pleasure for me than finding genuine growth and improvement in both the quality and style of my work. As I have grown and matured, so has my art. Below are some of the pieces I recently created in my studio.
Home: Projects
To commission a portrait, I ask for one clear hig quality photograph. Where the quality of the photo is of lower resolution, perhaps for instance if your pet has passed and cannot be retaken, then I may need a few photos for reference of detail etc. The clearer the image means that I am able to see a higher level of fine details, enabling me to then bring that into the portrait.
For pet portrait commissions I specialise in realistic coloured pencil drawings. The pencils I use for this are Faber Castell Polychromo Pencils and Caran D’ache Luminance lightfast pencils, both being the highest quality pencils on the market. My pencil portraits have a more subtle tone with a higher detail and realistic finish.
